ABOUT CORAL WARRIORS

Coral Warriors is India's first ever diving grant that recognises the role that first hand observations during diving can make in combatting climate change. We need to see coral bleaching first hand to understand the reality and impact of climate change on life in water. Coral Warriors gives Indians who are passionate about climate change and want to make an impact in the space the opportunity to go diving and create projects of impact. Many other countries have grants for diving and underwater exploration, but this is the first ever grant in India.

More about coral warriors

Coral Warriors has 3 main branches of work:

- The scuba diving grant - The only scuba diving grant in India which sponsors people to learn diving to understand climate change better. Our current focus is on women in India. So far, we have sponsored 9 women from India to learn scuba diving.

- Workshops in rural India - Coral Warriors hosts workshops in rural India. In the workshops, we show engaging videos of marine life and do a coral bleaching colouring session to highlight how people can bring life to dead corals. These workshops have impacted 56000 people across 21 states in India.

- The Brazilian Guitarfish Movement - A Network of 150 people across the world, be it policymakers or conservationists, working on preventing illegal meat trade in Brazil.
